Change Gemini’s theme and reading size

Before you start

Sign in at gemini.google.com on a computer. Open an existing answer to compare light and dark backgrounds.

Change the web theme

1. Open Settings & help at the bottom of Gemini.
2. Turn Dark theme on or off.
3. Read the same answer in the new theme.
4. Use your browser’s zoom menu if the text is still too small.

Check the result

Find the input box and read both your message and Gemini’s answer. Try one zoom increase at a time. A larger answer is useful only if the send button and navigation also remain reachable.

On a phone

Gemini’s mobile theme follows your device theme settings. Use the phone setup guide for larger text, then reopen Gemini to check the actual effect.

If the change does not carry over

The web theme preference is saved for the same browser and device. Repeat the setup in another browser rather than assuming it synced. Reset browser zoom to undo the size change.

Availability and limits

You must be signed in for the documented theme setting. Browser zoom and device text settings are separate controls; they do not change the wording or accuracy of an AI answer.
